Bolivar Is Back! Your Favorite Prehistoric New Yorker Returns In New Graphic Novel
by James Ferguson
There might not be a new Jurassic World movie this year, but Boom! Studios has you covered in the dinosaur department with a new Bolivar original graphic novel. Coming in November, Bolivar Eats New York: A Discovery Adventure takes you on a food tour through the five boroughs thanks to creator Sean Rubin.
This is a follow up to 2017’s Bolivar where we were introduced to the title character, a dinosaur living in New York City and his young neighbor Sybil who tries to tell everyone about him. This time around, Sybil learns that Bolivar only likes corned beef sandwiches, so she shows him all the great foods he’s missing across New York City. He’ll experience everything from knishes and falafel to dim sum.
Creator Sean Rubin says:
I was delighted when Boom! Studios suggested creating a discovery adventure around Bolivar and New York City, especially because this would give me an opportunity to revisit some of my favorite places to eat in all five boroughs. I’ve even had multiple offers to help with the research!
As a parent to two picky eaters, I cannot wait to get this book and share it with them. This is absolutely perfect. Kids love dinosaurs and they hate eating anything that’s not chicken nuggets or hot dogs. November can’t come soon enough.
Sierra Hahn, Executive Editor at Boom! Studios adds:
Audiences of all ages embraced the hijinks of young Sybil and her prehistoric friend Bolivar as they maneuvered through the streets of Manhattan. But we knew they’re journey was just beginning. Bolivar Eats New York: A Discovery Adventure is a love letter to everything that makes New York such an unforgettable city—the mix of people, cultures and, of course, the incredible food!
Bolivar Eats New York: A Discovery Adventure is scheduled for release in November 2019.
