Vision And Scarlet Witch Finds Showrunner

The Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) limited series planned for Disney+ apparently has a new name: Vision and the Scarlet Witch. It also has a showrunner.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Captain Marvel writer Jac Schaeffer will write the pilot and supervise the storyline of the upcoming short-run program. Avengers veterans Olsen and Paul Bettany (who plays Vision) are expected to take up their roles for the program, the first in a series of limited-run shows Marvel Studios will produce for the upcoming Disney streaming service. Other series planned include one focused on Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and another revolving around Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan).
And while it remains to be seen if these series will take place before the events of Avengers: Infinity War, it is interesting to see how the Scarlet Witch concept — initially reported as solo series for Olsen’s character — has molted into a two-hander with Olsen and Bettany. That’s not to say it’s a bad call, indeed, both character were short-changed in the Infinity War run-up — but it curious how the focus has changed. Traditionally, the characters have had a storied and often troubled romance, which may be good inspiration for the series.
Vision and the Scarlet Witch will debut on Disney+ sometime in the next two years.
