Riverdale Is Rocked By The War In Archie 1941 #5 Early Preview
by James Ferguson
Archie 1941 comes to a close with next month’s issue and it’s doing it with a bang. Riverdale’s favorite son, Archie Andrews is missing in action and presumed dead. His friends and family back home are devastated by the news. They’ve all been affected by the war in some shape or fashion, but this hits a lot closer to home than anything else has.
I’ve never been a big fan of war comics, but Archie 1941 really got through to me. It puts a human face on the conflict and puts it through the lens of these characters that I know and love. I’ll be reading this issue with bated breath as we find out what happens to Archie.
Archie 1941 #5 is written by Mark Waid and Brian Augustyn, illustrated by Peter Krause, colored by Kelly Fitzpatrick, and lettered by Jack Morelli. It’s set for release on February 6th and the final order cutoff date for comic shops is Monday, January 14th.
