The Batman Reportedly Set For Summer 2021 Release Without Ben Affleck

Matt Reeves gets his Batman wish.
Deadline reports his version of The Batman — which he now claims is a working title — will be released on June 25th, 2021. The film will also reportedly go into production without Ben Affleck, the star of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. He was originally slated to write, star, and direct the feature during a different iteration of Warner’s Bros’ DC film universe.
As Reeves mentioned in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, his film will feature younger Batman as a detective and see him experiencing some sort of transformation by the end. Presumably, casting will being soon with a new Dark Knight as the top priority.
Meanwhile, THR reports Suicide Squad 2 will debut on August 6th, 2021 — a date which suggests the film is much closer to production than previously thought. Additionally, the studio plans to release a DC Super Pets film, which is presumably an animated feature in the vein of Teen Titans GO! To the Movies, on May 21 of that year.
