Travel Into The Dark Woods In Bags (Or A Story Thereof) Early Preview
by James Ferguson
The July sees the release of Bags (Or a Story Thereof) from Boom! Studios. The original graphic novel from writer Patrick McHale, artist Gavin Fullerton, and colorist Whitney Cogar is a tale of a man and his dog. The comic follows John Motts as he goes in search of his dog, Beth. This takes him to the policeman’s home, the advice-giving walrus down the street, and eventually into the dark woods beyond the edge of town. It’s here he runs into several mysterious figures.
Shannon Watters, Editor at Boom! Studios says:
Patrick’s original short story comes to life with Gavin’s stunning art and Whitney’s classic colors as we follow a man who is shaken from his normal routine by a surprising and unexpected loss. In the wake of the disappearance of his dog, John follows an increasingly erratic train of thought which leads down an unusual and dangerous path until it may be too late to find his way back.
Bags (Or a Story Thereof) will feature a cover by Fullerton. It will be published under Boom! Studios’ KaBoom! imprint geared towards middle grade and younger readers. I like the quirky look and feel of it already so I’m looking forward to it.
Look for Bags (Or a Story Thereof) at your local comic shop on July 17th, 2019 or at bookstores and Amazon on July 23rd, 2019.
