Wynonna Earp Season 4 Delayed

If you are an Earper, you’ve already heard rumors that the fourth season of Syfy’s Wynonna Earp had been cancelled, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, the real (and equally disheartening) situation is a production delay due to financing difficulties at IDW Entertainment, the production company behind the series.
Wynonna Earp was renewed during the summer while its third season was still airing. In a statement to THR and a tweet of their own, Syfy said they “ordered season four of Wynonna Earp from IDW and is completely committed to the series. This has not changed.” The problems are internal at IDW, which the sites notes has gone through a number of key personnel changes over the last year. Additionally, the company is in the process of obtaining new form of financing for various projects. At the moment, the company has postponed production on the series, but is still contractually obligated to deliver the show to Syfy.
Considering the strength of the Earper community, the series will eventually continue. But the fanbase may also need to brace itself for the very possibility that Season 4 will be the show’s last.
