Riverdale’s Luke Perry Reportedly Suffers A Stroke
by Erik Amaya
Riverdale actor Luke Perry, who plays Fred Andrews on The CW series, is in the hospital today after reports the actor suffered a stroke.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms he is “currently under observation at the hospital” after TMZ first reported he was taken to an LA-area hospital around 6:40am PST. The gossip site referred to his condition as a “massive stroke,” but that has not been confirmed.
The 52-year-old actor has played Archie’s (KJ Apa) father on the series since its debut, but has taken long breaks as the parents are not always required. The character’s storyline has been in something of a holding pattern all season as his son’s journey’s into prison and the world of boxing took precedence. Previously, Fred was engaged in an affair with Hermione Lodge (Marisol Nichols) and subsequently ran for mayor against her.
We hope his condition, whatever it is, is not too serious and he recovers quickly.
