It’s A Matter Of Life And Death On Next Week’s Gotham

by Erik Amaya

With Gordon (Ben McKenzie) apparently out of commission in this preview of next week’s Gotham, Ivy (Peyton List) strikes again; taking control of Bruce (David Mazouz) and seemingly teaming up with Victor Zsasz (Anthony Carrigan) to mold the city in her image. But will Selina (Camren Bicondova) be able to break Ivy’s spell over Bruce in time?

Meanwhile, I think we can all agree that this week’s Ventriloquist plot was prime Gotham. So much so that the Bruce subplot in the sewer felt underbaked — especially when compared to Harvey’s (Donal Louge) surprisingly emotional journey with a proto-Clayface. At least the Bruce plot finished strong with he and Alfred (Sean Pertwee) coming to further understanding and Bruce learning he can be independent of the GCPD. But with only four episodes remaining, Bruce needs to get to his Dark Knight realization pretty darn quick. And with Wayne Manor blown up, one has to wonder if he will even be near a window when it happens.
