Fighting With My Family’s Florence Pugh To Join Scarlett Johansson In Black Widow

Black Widow‘s cast begins to emerge.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fighting With My Family‘s Florence Pugh is in talks to join the cast of Marvel Studios upcoming Black Widow feature film. Based on the character created by Stan Lee, Don Rico and Don Heck, it will feature Scarlett Johansson’s Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Natasha Romanoff in a story which is, at the moment, highly classified. Indeed, it is unclear who Pugh will play, but it is suspected she will be a rival agent to Nat’s Black Widow.
Traditionally, the character emerged from a KGB training facility to do battle with American heroes before defecting and joining up with S.H.I.E.L.D. As her story has never really been told in the MCU, it is possible the story will take viewers back to those days and finally answer one lingering question about the her: is she old enough to be a Soviet asset?
The film will be directed by Lore‘s Cate Shortland from a script by Jac Schaeffer. It is not yet scheduled for release, but expect it to join the 2021 group of Marvel films.
