John And Dante Finally Have A Chat In A Preview Of Next Week’s Arrow

by Erik Amaya

For ages, John Diggle (David Ramsey) has been on the trail of the mysterious Dante (Adrian Paul), an operator so connected, A.R.G.U.S. itself denied him the opportunity to bring the guy down. Dig had to leave the organization in order to continue his pursuit, leading to their first interaction four or five episodes ago. But as this preview for next week’s show indicates, the two will finally have a chance to talk — just not in the manner Diggle had hoped. Captured by Dante, it seems interrogation is on the menu. Can the rest of Team Arrow find him before something terrible happens?

Meanwhile, this week’s episode was another high-water mark for the season with its female focus and positive outcome for the Earth-2 Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). For once, Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) stubbornness paid off and the special appearance by Caity Lotz as Sara Lance was particularly welcome. Also, the actions scenes were better than they’ve been in ages. But getting back to Laurel, it was to see her hero status finally confirmed. Or, at the very least, that she’ll on that path into 2040. Sara’s note that redemption is a journey really outlines a course for her sister from another planet. And, to be honest, if the CW did short-run series with these characters, I’d love to see Laurel redeem herself back on Earth-2. But one wonders if she’ll return from that inter-dimensional trip to help out Team Arrow before the season ends, or, indeed, the ten-episode Season 8.

Arrow airs Mondays on The CW.
