Naruto Creator Masashi Kishimoto’s New Manga ‘Samurai 8’ Debuts May 13th

First teased during last year’s Jump Festa, Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto finally has a release date for his new manga, Samurai 8. It will begin serialization on May 13th in the 24th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. Unlike Kishimoto’s last series, Samurai 8 will be drawn by Akira Okubo (one of Kishimoto’s assistants on Naruto) and written by Kishimoto.
While Naruto was more of a ninja fantasy, Samurai 8 will be a series that combines Japanese culture and history with a science fiction setting, though not much else is known about the series at the moment other than the trailer above, shown during Jump Festa.
