Boom! Studios has shared an early preview of Rocko’s Modern Afterlife #2, due out in May. The five-issue mini-series from writer Anthony Burch and artist Mattia Di Meo has everyone’s favorite wallaby trying to survive the zombie outbreak that has taken over O-Town.
This issue picks up with Rocko holed up in his house trying to ride out the frightening wave of mutated O-Town citizens. His best friend, Heffer is in trouble and Rocko is the only one who can save him. Joined by his dog, Spunky, Rocko gears up and heads out into the perilous streets of an infested O-Town. Can he survive the journey? Or will he get turned into another mindless zombie? And what does the vast and all-powerful Conglom-O have to do with all this?
Editor Matthew Levine says:
While Rocko isn’t the bravest wallaby around, even the most anxious modern marsupial will step up when his friends’ lives are on the line. Or so we hope. Anthony and Mattia take on the modern craze for zombie apocalypses by dropping Rocko straight into the middle of a homegrown outbreak and bringing new readers and longtime fans along for the ride!
Rocko’s Modern Afterlife #2 will feature a main cover by Ian McGinty and a variant cover by Joey McCormick. It will be published under Boom! Studios’ KaBoom! imprint, alongside other comics for middle grade and younger readers. Look for it at your local comic shop on May 1st, 2019.
