Check Out Seven Minutes of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3 Gameplay
by Sage Ashford
As part of it’s cover feature for the month, Game Informer got to sit down with Team Ninja’s Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order and bring us seven minutes of exclusive gameplay. We’re told about the story of Ultimate Alliance 3, where we learn Thanos is once again looking for the Infinity Stones alongside his powerful allies in the Black Order, and the heroes of the Marvel Universe must come together to get them before he can. We get a glimpse of several different chapters, including the introduction with the Guardians of the Galaxy, then later looking at heroes on Earth including members of the Avengers, the X-Men, and even a few of the Inhumans.
The gameplay is very much reminiscent of old-school Ultimate Alliance, with three AI characters that can be controlled through drop-in/drop-out Co-Op at any time. In addition, they show a unique set of side missions known as Infinity Trials, where players can go back to levels they’ve already completed to play them again with different goals–defeat a certain number of waves or last a certain period of time–to gain additional experience. We also get a glimpse of the new “Heroic Camera”, giving players the ability to switch from the usual isometric view Ultimate Alliance is known for and giving us a more personal view, where the camera follows behind just one hero.
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch on July 19th.
