by James Ferguson

Coming off of the success of a Netflix adaptation, Dark Horse Comics has announced a new set of Library Editions of The Umbrella Academy. From co-creators Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba, the comic will be collected again in two deluxe oversized hardcovers this Fall.

First up is The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite Library Edition, collecting the 2008 limited edition of the complete first series, Apocalypse Suite, along with the short stories “Mon Dieu!” and “But the Past Ain’t Through with You” and an expanded 50-page sketchbook section. The second series, Dallas will get a similar treatment, with the added short story “Anywhere but Here” and an extra 36 pages of sketchbook material. Both sketchbook sections will feature work from Way, Ba, and designer Tony Ong.
The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite Library Edition is due out on September 11th, 2019 with The Umbrella Academy: Dallas Library Edition following on November 13th, 2019. Both will retail for $39.99 and they’re available for pre-order at your local comic shop, bookstore, and Amazon. Additionally, the trade paperback collection of the most recent Umbrella Academy series, Hotel Oblivion, is arriving in September.
