Denver Pop Culture Con 2019 Swag Brag

by Brendan M. Allen

I didn’t realize how much stuff I had actually acquired over the last couple days at Denver Pop Culture Con 2019 until I laid it all out for this post. I’m not entirely sure how I’ll get all this stuff in my bag for the flight home. There are too many great books and amazing nerdy tchotchkes to pass up. I have no willpower.

Picked up the Middlewest trade at Jorge Corona’s booth, signed by the dude himself. One Fall is the monster/pro wrestling book that David F. Walker and Brett Weldele just crowdfunded. Signed by Brett. Vinyl! Yes, I know there are two Daleks. I have two cars. And a laptop. And a fridge. And…a dog? I need more vinyl.

Smoke Town trade, signed by Scott Van Domelen. Midnight Sky ashcan signed by…everybody? Midnight Sky FCBD #0, also signed by loads of folks. Scout Comics shirt, signed by no one.

The Normals volume one trade, Backways volume one trade, Killer Groove #1 Denver Pop Culture Con 2019 variant. Shock Anthology HC, limited edition numbered 50/250, signed by Joe Pruett and the gang.

Throwback WWF prints, signed by Erik Hodson.

Con freebs. Sticker, sticker, badge, toy figure dealies? I have no idea. The lanyard is from our last Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Great Strides 5k. I wear a different CFF lanyard to each show. I don’t know what that little black thing even is. It’s like a silicone pocket? With a sticky back?

Action Presidents #1, George Washington, signed by Ryan Dunlavey. Superhero masks. I have kids.

Now, these, I didn’t actually buy. AfterShock CCO Joe Pruett generously donated this graded Dark Red #1 C2E2 Timothy Seeley variant cover for me to include in my next comics auction benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Not to be outdone, his twin brother James Pruett, COO of Scout Comics, graciously donated this beautiful glow-in-the-dark edition of The Source #1. Isn’t sibling rivalry awesome?
