Elizabeth Hurley To Bedevil The Runaways In Season 3 As Morgan La Fay

Elizabeth Hurley will be causing trouble for Marvel’s Runaways in the near future.
Variety reports the Austin Powers veteran will play Morgan La Fay in the series third season. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her portraying one of the most enchanting Marvel characters,” executive producer and Marvel Television boss Jeph Loeb said in a statement. Based on characters appearing in the Arthur legends, Morgan was created by Stan Lee and Joe Maneely in 1955’s Black Knight #1. But unlike her Arthurian counterparts, Marvel’s Morgan La Fay has a big history with the Darkhold, a demonic book with awesome powers. Vanquished and held in suspended animation in the 6th Century, she eventually resurfaced in the 1970s as foe of Spider-Woman, causing trouble for the Marvel Universe ever since.
On Runaways, the character will have the ability to “enchant objects, manipulate mystic energy and astral project.” She will also deploy a “cut-throat wit.” It is unclear, at the moment, if her powers derive from the mystic arts or the Darkhold itself; which featured prominently in the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and currently resides in Hell.
Runaways will return to Hulu in the near future.
