Feast Your Eyes On Alex Ross’ Awesome Artwork In Marvels Epilogue

by James Ferguson

It’s hard to believe that Marvels came out 25 years ago. To celebrate this anniversary, publisher Marvel Comics is releasing a follow up to the series, aptly titled Marvels Epilogue. This standalone story, written by Kurt Busiek and illustrated by Alex Ross, is set in the 1970s and features the all-new, all-different X-Men. Photojournalist Phil Sheldon is now retired with two adult daughters. While visiting New York City for the holidays, the family finds themselves in the middle of a battle between the mutants and the Sentinels.

Marvel has shared a sneak peek at Ross’ interior artwork in a gorgeous double-page spread which you can check out below.

This story clocks in at only 16 pages, so I’m curious if there will be another story included. This issue will include a behind-the-scenes look at the making of this special along with other bonus features. Marvels Epilogue #1 is set for release on July 24th, 2019.
