Avengers: Endgame Release Details Emerge
by Erik Amaya
Avengers: Endgame is getting a second theatrical release to shore up that box office record, and details of the value-added features have emerged.
The film is closing in on Avatar‘s #1 all-time box office record. And to get over the last few hurdles, Disney will re-release the film to theaters this Friday. But according to Fandango, Marvel will include a video introduction from co-director Anthony Russo, a deleted scene from the mammoth production, and a sneak peak of Spider-Man: Far From Home, which hits theaters next week to entice fans back into theaters. Presumably, those fans all watched the three-hour film more than once during its April release, so some added material is probably a good idea.
Word of the release surfaced last week when Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige alluded to Endgame‘s return to theaters. At the time, he mentioned it would not be an “extended cut” of the film — like it needs to be longer — and would include some surprises. Presumably, the look at Far From Home will be the surprise.
Then again, if you are in a part of the country where it is expected to be hot over the weekend, Endgame‘s established runtime and extra features may be a good excuse to spend an afternoon in air-conditioned comfort.
