The Boys Invade Comic-Con On July 19th
by Erik Amaya
It seems like a natural fit. Amazon announced Wednesday that The Boys will make its way to Comic-Con International: San Diego. Both it and fellow Amazon freshman series Carnival Row will dominate the company’s activation space across the street from the San Diego Convention Center. The series will also be the focus of a panel presentation on Friday July 19th at 3:30pm in Ballroom 20. Executive producers Seth Rogen and Eric Kripke will be on hand with stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Elisabeth Shue and moderator Aisha Tyler for a behind the scenes look at the upcoming series.
Based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, Urban and Quaid star as members of a human vigilante squad who take policing superhero into their own hands. And in a world in which supers are more like sports celebrities or Instagram influencers, the Boys will have their hands full. But is it possible one of them is taking things too far?
The series is a natural fit for Comic-Con, where both hedonism and superheroes get celebrated in equal measure. Presumably, it will lead to a fun hour of discussion with the cast and producers.
The series, meanwhile, debuts July 26th on Amazon.
