Millie Bobby Brown Reportedly Joining The Eternals

It seems Stranger Things‘ Millie Bobby Brown may have a future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after all.
The actor has been denying reports that she is joining the MCU since May, when rumors first surfaced she was set to join the cast of Marvel’s forthcoming Eternals film. Starring Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani and Richard Madden, the film — based on Jack Kirby’s Eternals comic book series about a race of proto-humans engineered by the cosmic Celestials with the intent of installing them as the world’s first super-powered protectors — will reportedly center on Sersi (also created by Kirby), a fourth generation Eternal with the abilities of flight, strength, immortality and molecular manipulation who may have been the inspiration for the Marvel universe’s version of the legendary Greek god Circe.
The May rumor suggested Brown would play Piper, a powerful psychic stuck in the form of a child. Brown was asked about The Eternals during the premiere of Godzilla: King of the Monsters; telling the reporter the question was “a waste of time,” adding, “I’d straight up tell you if I was, but no.”
The rumor resurfaced last month with Marvel itself denying the claim, seemingly ending the matter for keeps until an article published by Variety on Tuesday nonchalantly referred to Brown as a member of the cast.
It is unclear if the site is playing a game of telephone with the earlier rumor or if it has somehow confirmed the reports were true. Either way, expect the matter to be cleared up soon, possible even at Marvel’s Hall H appearance next week.
