Wellington Is The New Comic Book Exploring The World Of Lore By Mahnke, Dawson And IDW
by Olly MacNamee
Here’s a new one on me. A new five issue series that develops the world of a podcast. That world being Lore, as created by Aaron Mahnke. Written by New York Times bestselling author Delilah S. Dawson (Star Wars) with Aaron Mahnke, featuring artwork by Piotr Kowalski (The Dark Tower) and colors by Brad Simpson(The Witcher), Wellington will delve even deeper into Lore’s dark side of history with Wellington.
Wellington promises to be “a fear-fraught tale (that) introduces the creature-hunting Duke of Wellington, investigator of the most thrilling mysteries and monsters found on the smash hit podcast!”
Creator, Mahnke, elaborates on this series too:
History and folklore are deep wells, and they are honestly a fiction writer’s dream come true. With an amazing cast of characters just waiting to be called upon, and centuries of belief in the supernatural setting the stage, I’m excited to share these powerful stories in a brand-new way!
Artist Kowalski added his own take on the central character of the Duke of Wellington:
The most interesting characters in comics are those who battle with their own demons whilst trying to fix the world however they can. The Duke of Wellington certainly has all the qualities of a perfect horror tale hero. He is driven, experienced, and tormented by nightmares. He is a hunter, avenger, and tireless seeker of the ultimate truth. And, ultimately, the strength of this character guarantees a captivating and entertaining comic book
Are you excited too? Well, if you’re a fan of the podcast, or of horror and folklore the one’s for you. And, it’s out this October from IDW. And, catch up on all the previous podcasts here, and see what it’s all about for yourselves. Well, hear what it’s all about, I suppose.
