Carnival Row Is X-Men But With Fairies

by Tito W. James

Carnival Row is a neo-noir fantasy series set in city where magical creatures are a subservient class. The racial tensions between the humans and fae are the serve as the crux for the drama and a catalyst for a series of murders.

The trailer is playing up the alienation of the fae pretty hard. However, much like the X-men I never understood how the group of attractive people who have superpowers managed to get oppressed by humans. Still the cast and neo-noir esthetic are intriguing enough that I’ll be checking out Carnival Row this august.
