Sound and Fury is an anime anthology produced by Sturgill Simpson to help promote his new album of the same name. The anthology will feature the animation talents of Junpei Mizusaki (Batman Ninja), Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai), Michael Arias (Tekkon Kinkreet), Koji Morimoto (Animatrix), Masaru Matsumoto (Starship Troopers: Traitors of Mars) and many more.
Anime anthologies like Short Peace, Memories, and Robot Carnival have always been interesting experiments in animation. However, it’s a chore to track down all these anthologies in disk form. The success of Love, Death, and Robots, proves that Netflix can expose casual audiences to underground content. I hope to see more anime anthologies in the future.
