The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance And GLOW Season 3 Top Our Netflix Picks In August

by Erik Amaya

August is often a slow time for media, but it seems to be a big month for Netflix with three big premieres. For us, the biggest debut is, of course, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. While the prequel series made lead to an unhappy ending — the Gelflings are all but extinct in the original film — we’re glad to see this series finally arrive after decades of development. And even if these new heroes are on a doomed adventure, we always hoped for more time in this world. The series debuts on August 30th. But earlier in the month, GLOW will make its return. The series always surprises and delights with its mix of comedy and drama. Also, Betty Gilpin is one of the best actors working in TV today and her performance is worth your time. It returns August 9th. Meanwhile, on August 16th, the second season of MINDHUNTERS finally makes its debut and the third season of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power leaps onto the service on August 2nd. Of course, these are just the shows we’re interested in watching. Take a look at the full list of series and films coming to the service next month and find you’re own must see content.

(Oh, also, the first five Rocky films hit Netflix on August 1st, which means Rocky V may finally be Your Weekend Cheesy Movie.)
