Marvel’s Runaways Returns To Hulu In December For Season 3
by Erik Amaya
As is now the custom for Hulu’s Runaways, the series will return for its third season on December 13th.
TVLine reports the 10-episode season will see the group searching for Chase (Gregg Sulkin), Gert (Ariela Barer) and Karolina (Virginia Gardner) — who were captured last season — while contending with an unstoppable enemy who has targeted Leslie (Annie Wersching) and the child she’s carrying. The story will eventually take them into a “dark realm” ruled by Morgan La Fey (Elizabeth Hurley).
A far cry from the teen angst and high school dramas of the first season.
The series, based on the comic book by Brian K. Vaughn and Adrian Alphona, was Marvel’s first success story on Hulu and eventually led to a new pact between Marvel Entertainment and the streaming service for a number of live action and animated series including Ghost Rider (with Gabriel Luna reprising the role from Season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and a M.O.D.O.K. series with Patton Oswlat set to voice the infamous mobile organism. Little was said about the growing relationship between Marvel Entertainment and Hulu at the Television Critics Association summer press tour today, but expect these programs to gain more focus in the months ahead.
