Radio Romance Depicts Queer Love In Lebanon

Mashrou’Leila is a Lebanese pro-LGBTQ alternative rock band that seeks to use their music to change the world. The animated music video Radio Romance depicts a loving couple trying desperately to embrace while being pulled apart by external forces.
The song serves as a metaphor for a world where many love stories remain prohibited because of homophobia, xenophobia, and any form of racism. The band was forced to cancel a concert in Lebanon due to push back from religious fundamentalists. However, this music video speaks to audiences across the globe reminding us that love is love in any country.
