According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney+ is developing a series based on Kamala Khan — aka. Ms. Marvel. Created by Sana Amanat, Stephen Wacker, G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona, Kamala Khan was a Pakistani teenager living in New Jersey admiring the exploits of Captain Marvel when a Terrigen bomb activated her Inhuman cells; turning her into a shape-shifter with increased strength and other skills. Deciding to become a hero, Kamala faced pressures from home, school, her culture and supervillains. The character became one of the most prominent minority characters in Marvel’s stable very quickly. The fan-favorite has inspired impassioned pleas to see Kamala become a live-action fixture of Marvel’s film or TV universe. It seems her time is finally here.

Bisha K. Ali will reportedly serve as showrunner on the series.

Marvel Studios Kevin Feige confirmed the series is happening during the presentation. “[She’s] coming to the MCU,” he said. “You will meet her in Disney+ series and see her in our films.” Additional series announced include Moon Knight and, finally, She-Hulk. “Bruce banner is no longer the only Hulk in the MCU,” said Feige. “She’s a Hulk she’s a lawyer.”

The new series will be part of Phase 4 and have implications for the films going forward.
