Taika Waititi In Talks To Join The Suicide Squad
by Erik Amaya
Like the DC Comics series which inspired it, The Suicide Squad‘s roster of talent continues to be surprising and impressive.
Deadline reports Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi is in talks to join the film in an as-yet unknown role. We’re going to presume it is a voice role as Waititi will be out promoting his upcoming film Jojo Rabbit and prepping Love and Thunder for its 2020 production block. Suicide Squad filming begins in the latter part of September.
Starring Idris Elba in an also undisclosed role, the film sees the return of Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney as Suicide Squad‘s Harley Quinn and Captain Boomerang. Viola Davis and Joel Kinnaman also reprise their roles as government minders Amanda Waller and Rick Flag, with David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, and Steve Agee taking on the parts of the Polka-Dot Man, the Ratcatcher, and King Shark. Flula Borg will also appear as a potential love interest for a member of the Squad and just a few days ago, word broke that Nathan Fillion will also be joining the film in some capacity.
The Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 6th, 2021.
