Will Poulter Reportedly Set To Join The Lord Of The Rings

by Erik Amaya

Will Poulter is trading out Narnia for Middle-Earth.
Variety reports the actor has been cast as one of the leads in Amazon’s upcoming The Lord of the Rings television series. His role is currently unknown, but with the program set sometime in the Second Age, he could be anyone from Gil-Galad to Celebrimbor to Ar-Pharazon to Sauron himself. Of course, it is always possible he will play a new human or elf character created for the series.
Poutler appeared in 2010’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader as the Pevensies’ obnoxious cousin Eustace Scrubb. By the end of the film, Eustace transformed into a worthwhile character and, had more film been made, the main character of the Narnia cycle going forward. Sadly, this did not work out for Poulter as plans for The Silver Chair will ultimately scrapped. Narnia is currently being developed as a television series by Netflix.
Actor Markella Kavenagh is also said to be part of LOTR‘s cast, but this has not been confirmed.
