The Raid‘s Iko Uwais may soon find himself part of the G.I. Joe universe.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is in talks to join the cast of Paramount and Allspark’s upcoming Snake Eyes. The film stars Henry Golding as the infamous commando/ninja and Andre Koji as Storm Shadow, his blood-brother and arch rival.
Uwais, if talks are successful, will play Hard Master, Snake Eyes’s master in the ways of the sword.
The film is, of course, based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero line of toys and the long-running Marvel Comic book in which much of the line’s mythology initially took shape. In the film — to be directed by Divergent series veteran Robert Schwentke from a script by Evan Spiliotopoulos — the title character will infiltrate a ninja clan to obtain vengeance for his father, but gain acceptance along the way.
Snake Eyes is not yet schedule for release.
