Dark Horse’s Crone Features Romero Muerte Backup Story Exclusive To Print Editions

by James Ferguson

Crone, the upcoming series from Dennis Culver and Justin Greenwood just added a little incentive for those buying it in single issues from your local comic shop. Publisher Dark Horse Comics has announced the print editions will feature an exclusive backup story called Romero Muerte, written by Culver, illustrated and colored by Ramon Villalobos, and lettered by Christy Sawyer.

Romero Muerte follows a lone man as he walks across the ruined landscape of the former United States / Mexico border. Along the way he avenges the victims of all who celebrate Hell and devastation.
Writer Dennis Culver says:

Romero Muerte is a story about revenge and betrayal that Ramon and I have wanted to tell for quite some time. I’m really excited for people to finally read it. Also, Ramon is coloring his own art for the first time in a sequential story, and I think it’s some of the best work he’s ever made!

Crone centers on the Sword Savior and Champion of Men once known as Bloody Bliss who has turned into a reclusive old crone. She’s forced out of retirement when an old enemy returns, but does she have the strength to answer the call?
Crone #1 is set for release on November 6th, 2019 and is currently available for pre-order. The first chapter of Romero Muerte will be included in Crone #2, coming on December 4th, 2019.
