Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) search for answers takes him to Nanda Parbat. His aim: learn more about the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett). But as this preview for next week’s Arrow reveals, returning to the League of Assassins means a family reunion with Thea Queen (Willa Holland). Last we heard of her, she was on a quest to destroy the other Lazarus Pits, but is it possible she’s decided to become Ra’s Al Ghul?
Of course, we know she will be joining Team Arrow for at least a few episodes, so that aim may not be her true destiny. Alternatively, the world Oliver leaves behind may be better off if Thea leads the League.
Meanwhile, we finally know that Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson) is in fact the Harbinger working for the Monitor. When it was first announced Anderson would appear as Harbinger in “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” there was some speculation she would be a doppelganger from an alternative Earth. But as seen in this episode’s closing moments, she is fully aware of the Crisis. Her concern for Diggle (David Ramsey) also proves she is the Lyla we’ve known for the past eight years. Presumably, we’ll learn more about her connection to the Monitor in the weeks ahead.
Also, for all the ways Arrow was the grounded superhero show, pivoting it to this crazy, cosmic ride may actually be the best way to send it off. It’s definitely a better choice than, say, bringing Ricardo Diaz back from the dead.
Arrow airs Tuesdays on The CW.
