Geralt Speaks, Fights, And Feels In New Witcher Trailer
by Erik Amaya
Netflix’s The Witcher will be joining the media landscape on December 20th. And to celebrate, the streaming service unveiled a new trailer. In it, Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) faces misconceptions about his kind, fights a number of people, and relaxes in bathtub while being asked about his feelings. And while the series is based on the books of Andrzej Sapkowski and not The Witcher video games themselves, Geralt’s voice and certain locations will feel familiar to players.
Other members of the cast include Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Fortitude’s Björn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla, Therica Wilson-Read as Sabrina, Millie Brady as Princess Renfri, Eamon Farren as Cahir, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Lars Mikkelsen as Stregobor, Royce Pierreson as Istredd, Maciej Musiał as Sir Lazlo, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Dara, and Anna Shaffer as Triss. Daredevil and Defenders co-executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will run the show and write the pilot script, while Alik Sakharov, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Charlotte Brändström will all direct portions of the eight-episode first season.
