Valiant Entertainment has one of the largest superhero universes in comics today so they have a deep roster of characters to pull from. Coming this February will be an all new series entitled, Doctor Tomorrow. It will be written by Alejandro Arbona, with art from Jim Towe, colors from Diego Rodriguez and letters from Clayton Cowles.
The story follows a teenage hothead and star athlete, Bart Simms as he comes to terms with being a hero. Does he have what it takes to save the Valiant Universe from an overwhelming threat? We have a preview of the opening sequence from the first issue. You can see his new villain, Hadrian, along with some recognisable Valiant characters.
Writer Arbona says:
There are things about this comic that I think will really resonate with readers and that I think people will be really excited about, but I can’t talk about what those things are, because they’re giant spoilers. This comic is just really full of surprises and zig-zags, and if we’ve done our job well, every issue will throw you for a loop.
“Aesthetically, I wanted to capture a combination of sci-fi elements with golden age flare. Each character lands somewhere on that spectrum, and very deliberately, too.
Robert Meyers, Senior Editorial Director, also says:
We are truly striving for a fun, upbeat book and Alejandro and Jim really nailed it. There’s a bunch of fun Easter eggs for the long time Valiant fans as well. Keep your eyes peeled!
Look for the Doctor Tomorrow #1 to drop on February 19, 2020. Covers will be done by Kenneth Rocafort, Stacey Lee, Raúl Allén, and Doug Braithwaite.
