The final issue of Tom King’s run on Batman ain’t even out yet and DC Comics are already touting the new creative team of James Tynion IV, Tony S. Daniel, Danny Miki and Tomeu Morey, debuting in Batman #86. I’ve always been a fan of Daniels’s artwork on Batman and felt he really matured and developed as an artist on his previous time on Batman working with Grant Morrison and all the other times since. He’s really been something of a regular Batman artist over the past decade or so, and as such I really feel he’s earned his right to be included amongst the quintessential Batman artists all time given his prevalence over the previous decade and the important stories he’s been involve in. He’s certainly a welcome return. And, with the promise of a guest appearance by Deathstroke, it’s a great bit of bait for fans possibly thinking of dropping the title after King’s last issue.
