Scissor Seven is a Chinese animated series about an amnesiac assassin working undercover as a hairdresser. For many western audience members this will be their first exposure to Chinese animation.
Animation production in China has had a long and hard path but we may be entering a new Renaissance of creativity. I’ve expressed in previous articles that the rise of streaming platforms is giving rise to new voices being able to be heard on a global stage. I hope this is only one of many more Chinese animated series to come.
