Painkiller Comes For The Pierces On The Next Black Lightning

With all of the Pierces standing against the ASA, it was only a matter of time before they activated Painkiller (Jordan Calloway) to deal with the family. But will his talents and skills be enough to take out three extremely powerful metas? Or is that four metas with Brandon (Jahking Guillory) using his earth-bending powers? No matter the numbers, Painkiller is the ASA’s best asset and may just be enough to overpower the family.
And whenever Painkiller comes into the frame, there is always the possibility Jennifer (China Anne McClain) might be able to coax Kahlil’s memories out of him. But when we talked to Calloway in November, he seemed pretty certain Kahlil is well and truly gone with only Painkiller remaining.
Meanwhile, it seems the effects of the Crisis are still working themselves out in Freeland. Lady Eve (Jill Scott) appearance on Gambi’s (James Remar) screen may be one of the subtle changes — as is the way Garfield High is suddenly a Resistance stronghold — but we expect a few more may occur in the weeks ahead. Perhaps the Post-Crisis Freeland will also give us a Markovian leader as ruthless and compelling as Odell (Bill Duke). Until that happens, Markovia will not feel like a real threat.
