DC Comics Promises Epic Game-Changing Plans For This Year’s FCBD Offering
by Olly MacNamee
Wally West takes to the Mobius chair and imbued with the powers of Dr Manhattan, being able to see the past, presents and future of the DC Universe. That’s the startling premise to Generation Zero, a 32 page one-shot that sets the stage for the DCU’s next evolutionary step and yet another new DC timeline and one of three free comic book offerings for this year’s Free Comic Book Day (FCBD).
‘Flash Forward: Epilogue‘ is an original story by Scott Lobdell and Brett Booth, referred to above, with a reprinting of the recent history-shattering story, ‘A Brave New World,‘ from Wonder Woman #750. Written by Scott Snyder with art by Bryan Hitch, this story retcons the history of DC Comics now firmly establishing Wonder Woman as this new timeline’s first superhero. Great Hera!
In order to save his children and the multiverse itself, Wally West makes the ultimate sacrifice, taking his place in the Moebius Chair. Unbeknownst to him, the chair is packing a little extra power, having been imbued with the godlike powers of Dr. Manhattan! Now armed with infinite knowledge – and the powers of a god – Wally West can see the past, present and future of the DC Universe all at once.
…Including what needs to be changed.
