‘Stranger Things 4’ Teaser Confirms Someone Is Still Alive

by Erik Amaya

The third season of Netflix’s Stranger Things concluded with a number of apparent deaths. But even as final as things seemed, a stinger scene revealed “the American” alive and well in a Soviet prison. And now Netflix has confirmed the identity of the American in this clip from the forthcoming season.

We have to admit, he looks in better shape — which will happen if you spend time building a railroad for mother Russia. But Hopper (David Harbour) was a sturdy man even with the beer gut. And considering how obvious the stinger scene was, it is no surprise to see him alive. At the same time, we look forward to learning how he ended up in the Soviet Union.
The season promises to take the characters beyond Hawkins, Indiana with the Byers family and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) having moved after Hopper’s seeming demise. Left behind are the rest of the gang. But, presumably, the Upside Down is not done with these people nor are its denizens ready to give up an invasion of conventional reality. Will the Soviets try to use that to their advantage or will their attempts to penetrate that dimension be their undoing?
Stranger Things returns sometime in 2020.
