Toy Fair 2020: Upcoming Hasbro Marvel Legends Figures
by Gary Catig
Hasbro made a big splash on the first day of New York Toy Fair. They dropped a ton of new product reveals during their presentation spanning a multitude of their different brands. In particular, they showed a large number of figures coming to their Marvel Legends line. Let’s take a look at all the new figures including some surprising cinematic additions.
Appropriate for the current year, there is an Iron Man 2020 Walmart Exclusive that comes with a flight stand. It’s even up for pre-order right now.
They only showed one new addition to the Marvel Legends Riders collection. It is a Punisher with his motorcycle. Frank Castle also comes with a baseball bat accessory.
This year, their Avengers wave will draw heavily upon the video games. There are Captain America, Iron Man and Ms. Marvel versions from the Square-Enix game. Also included are comic versions of The Leader, Mar-Vell, Rage and Mach-1. The Build-A-Figure will be Abomination.
Also, from the Gamer-verse is a Starboost Iron Man found exclusively at Target.
We’ve caught glimpses of the Age of Apocalypse wave including Jean Grey and Dark Beast, Wild Child and Sunfire, and Morph, X-Man/Nate Grey, and Weapon-X. The B-A-F is Sugar Man.
Similarly, for the Deadpool wave, we’ve already seen Sunspot, Warpath and Deadpool in a blue suit and the B-A-F, Strong Guy. Also included are Black Tom and Maverick.
In addition, there is a retro Spider-Man line inspired by the Fox Kids animated show that has Spider-Man, Gwen Stacy (with swappable Mary Jane head) and Peter Parker.
Two new deluxe figures coming later are War Machine and Apocalypse.
A pair of old men, Old Man Logan with Hulkling and Old Man Hawkeye are also receiving their own figure.
Nimrod, modern Rogue and Giant-Sized X-Men #1 classic Storm are on their way. Storm will be a Target exclusive.
Speaking of X-Men, Hasbro is making versions of the characters that appear in the films. Now that Disney owns the rights to Fox, it was probably easier to make this happen. Look for Mystique, a Logan and a Hugh Jackman Wolverine. The last one will be an Amazon exclusive. Also, frenemies, Charles Xavier and Magneto are in a two pack and contain heads for both the younger and older versions.
Cinematic Deadpool is also crashing the party with Domino, Cable, who is a Walmart exclusive and a two pack featuring the Merc with the Mouth and Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
It’s exhausting going through all the upcoming Marvel Legends figures. Which one are you most excited for?
