IDW To Publish Michael Golden’s Micronauts Artist’s Edition This June
by Olly MacNamee
When Marvel published toy tie-in comic, Micronauts, licensed from Mego Corporation over 40 years, I imagine they couldn’t have imagined its long-lasting popularity amongst comic book fans of a certain age. But then, with Bill Mantlo on scripts and Michael Golden on art, this book was a real high-point of Bronze Age art that stands up to this day. No wonder IDW are collecting Micronauts issues #3, #7-9, and #11-12 in an oversized Artist’s Edition this June. This volume will also includes additional art and covers.
What’s more, a portion of the profits will go to support the long-term medical care of Bill Mantlo, who’s been receiving treatment for cognitive and memory impairment since a 1992 hit-and-run accident.
Check out a selection of pages below. But, this does no justice to how it’ll look as a physical copy with pages the same size as the original art boards.
