Preview: Hal Jordan’s In Exile On Earth Begins In ‘The Green Lantern Season 2’ #2 By Morrison And Sharp

by Olly MacNamee

Another Silver Age throwback or two (Cosmidor City and Eve Doremus from Green Lantern #58) come to The Green Lantern Season 2 #2 by Grant Morrison, Liam Sharp, Steve Oliff and Tom Orzechowski. Adding that authentic Silver Age sheen is a clear Frank Frazzetta influence Sharp incorporates into his figures that elevate these mere mortals into tangible, heroic figures, as you can see in this eye-watering preview below.
And, with both Sharp and Morrison hailing from the United Kingdom, I can’t help but thinking that Hal’s exile on Earth is another throwback of a sort, to the John Pertwee era of Doctor Who and his own exile to Earth.
All in all, another retro-fitted hot-rod of an issue coming up in The Green Lantern Season 2 #2 out 3.11.2020 from DC Comics.

Hal Jordan is stuck on the worst possible planet he can imagine: Earth! Reassigned by the bold new Guardians to patrol his home planet, Hal finds himself a bit bored with his familiar haunts versus the infinite expanse and adventure of outer space. But when an invasion from the dawn of time strikes the planet, can Hal stop…the Ornitho-Men?!

And, congratulations to the whole GL team on the news that the second season is back on as a 12 issue run after all. Looks like you’re stuck at that drawing board a little bit longer then, Sharpie.
