Dreamer Takes The Lead On Next Week’s Supergirl

by Erik Amaya

So Kara (Melissa Benoist) and William (Staz Nair) are finally going on that date, which means Nia (Nicole Maines) will be taking point for the evening. But as this preview for next week’s Supergirl teases, someone in National City doesn’t think Dreamer is “the right kind of role model.” It’s a code word, of course, as Nia has to face prejudice and the usual National City crime rate.

This week’s episode, though, was a breath of fresh air as it advanced the Leviathan plotline, let Lena’s (Katie McGrath) technology advance a little, and provided Kara a pretty decent reason to give William a chance. Now, we know the shippers aren’t too thrilled about William, and it seems the show is pretty sheepish about it as well, but we think he’s worth the time to at least investigate a potential romance. He may not be a long-term thing — in fact, it would be more interesting if he wasn’t — but as we said when William first suggested a date months ago (even though Kara said it was last week), Kara should have the space to date. It’s a thing most people get to do without being a huge drama; it should also be an avenue for Kara to explore.
Supergirl airs Sundays on The CW.
