Preview: ‘The Terrifics’ #26 And The Day Simon Stagg Died

by Olly MacNamee

The Terrifics still lives up to its title as one of DC Comics best under-the-radar books. But, as the sole survivor of the New Age of Heroes initiative (another reason behind Dan Didio’s sacking, I wonder, given its underperformance) it must be doing something right to still be surviving. Maybe it has something to do with the amazing stories written by Gene Luen Yang, who’s been smashing it on this book since replacing Jeff Lemire. It’s good to see this book on the shelves still. If you haven’t discovered this series, then check out our preview of this week’s new issue, and new storyline, with art by Sergio Davila, inks by Vincente Cifuentes.

Following the events of the T-Finity experiment, Mr. Terrific has at last gained control of his long-defunct company Terrifictech, with the help of a mysterious benefactor. Seeking to redefine the concept of super-heroics with bleeding-edge technology and targeted global problem-solving, Michael Holt and his team of outcasts are expanding their horizons to a bright new future. But as the Terrifics evolve, the remnants of evils past just won’t let them go…

The Terrifics #26 is out 03.11.2020 from DC Comics.
