Mitch Gerads Talks ‘Strange Adventures’ #2 And Supporting Your LCBS
by Olly MacNamee
Tired of Twitter threads, Mitch Gerads took to YouTube to take about Strange Adventures #2 which was due to be released next Wednesday 1st April, or as Gerads puts it in the video, “worst April Fool’s joke ever,” and he’s right.
Talking mainly about the mistakes in printing Strange Adventures #1 on the normal paper stock used by DC Comics mainstream titles, we learn that this has now been corrected as of issue #2 and there will also be a reprint of the first issue on the nicer stock which is used to utilise the ‘spot-gloss’ highlighting Adam Strange against the matte background. And, even from this video, and comics I own from DC Black Label that have also utilised this particular print technique (check out Batman: Curse of the White Knight as a good example of the printing process), it does look better. Good enough that I will go and purchase the Strange Adventures #1 reprint.
