During the Nintendo Direct Mini last week, the company showed off a new trailer of Square-Enix’s Bravely Default II while also announcing a new demo that’s available now. The trailer features an introduction to the four new heroes that will be working together in the upcoming RPG: the lead character Seth, Princess Gloria, the Traveling Scholar Elvis, and the Mercenary Adelle.
The trailer also offers a glimpse at the game’s combat. The heroes will face off against bosses holding “Asterisks” which grant special jobs — like Thief, Black Mage, and more. Each boss, once defeated, will surrender their Asterisk, allowing the heroes to take on those jobs. Different jobs can be fused together to allow for more skills. The video also shows off the “Bravely” and “Default” systems — Default allows one to build up Brave points which can then be used to take multiple turns one after another.
Bravely Default II will launch sometime in 2020, but the demo is available now.
