Erik Valdez Joins ‘Superman & Lois’

Lana Lang’s husband has been found.
Deadline reports actor Erik Valdez has joined the cast of The CW’s Superman & Lois. He will play Kyle Cushing, husband of Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and the Smallville fire chief. According to the character description, he has seen his fair share of tragedy and “doesn’t care much for the big city and often butts heads with people that come from it.”
So, he might not be Brad from Superman III, but he sounds like a modern update and a clear antagonistic presence. Chriqui’s Lang, meanwhile, is said to reconnect with Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) during the roughest time of her life, so Kyle may not be a part of it by the end of the pilot or, indeed, the first season.
Set on the Arrowverse’s Earth-Prime, the series will see Clark and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) returning to their normal lives as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. The series will also feature Dylan Walsh as Lois’s father, General Samuel Lane.
It is unclear when the series will debut — the speed of developments suggest it will be a Fall show — but with a 13-episode order and all the uncertainties because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is possible this will be postponed to Spring 2021.
