EXCLUSIVE: Fantoons Delivers Ninja Sex Party Origins Graphic Novel

After heating up YouTube and the Billboard charts, Ninja Sex Party is ready to take over comics. Discover what happened before Dan Avidan and Brian Wecht joined forces to create the legendary explosive band in Ninja Sex Party: The Graphic Novel, Part 1: Origins, coming in May from Fantoons.


Dan Avidan says:

I am beyond psyched about the very first NSP graphic novel, which tells the true story of our lives before we started the band. I am a huge comic book nerd, (in addition to every other type of nerd), so this is a dream come true!

The 120-page, full-color hardcover is a fully authorized real-life tale of the two-man band that just wants to make you laugh until your heart explodes. It’s based on personal in-depth interviews with both Dan Avidan (Danny Sexbang) and Brian Wecht (Ninja Brian) and it’s the first time this origin story will be revealed. It’s tells two biographical stories that meet in the middle. If you read the book one way, you’ll learn about Dan’s life from childhood, through his early bands, and up to the formation of Ninja Sex Party. Flip it over and you’ll see Brian’s life growing up in New Jersey, pursuing a career in physics, meeting his wife, and how he and Dan found each other. This is a brilliant idea.

How did Dan Avidan and Brian Wecht come to meet each other? And more importantly, who are they as people? We feel privileged to be able to tell this inspirational story as a graphic novel and go into personal details about their individual life-journeys to led them to form Ninja Sex Party.

You’ll notice that the title of this book is only Part 1. This is the first chapter of a planned two-volume set documenting the entire story of the band’s inception. No details yet as to when we’ll expect the second part.
