‘Red Winter: Fallout’ Gets Started Earlier On Kickstarter
by James Ferguson
Red Winter, the crime noir series from Scout Comics is returning with a sequel soon. While the official release date for Red Winter: Fallout has not yet been announced, fans can get a taste early through a Kickstarter campaign to fund the printing and remaining artwork for an exclusive edition of the first issue. This will include bonus material that will not be available in the eventual Scout release.
Red Winter: Fallout is written by Michael Gordon, illustrated by Alberto Massaggia, and lettered by Nikki Sherman. It picks up in the aftermath of the first series as Joseph Winter is on the run in Kapotnya, the most crime-ridden district of Moscow. The recent gang massacre at the Moscow Oil Refinery was (mostly) his fault or at least that’s what the local criminal element thinks. Desperate to find some way out of a city that wants him dead, Joseph will receive help from a very unlikely source.
The bonus material in the Kickstarter exclusive edition of Red Winter: Fallout #1 will include art process pages, script to art comparisons, and an essay written by Gordon detailing the inspirations behind the series. Rewards for the campaign include digital and physical copies of the comic itself, the trade paperback of the first volume, mugs, commissions, and getting drawn in the comic.
