Chaos Reigns In A Preview In A ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Season Finale
by Erik Amaya
After all the joking, meta-commentary on television as a medium, and Olivia Swann switching accents, it time for the heroes on Legends of Tomorrow to take on the Fates. And as this preview for next week’s season finale indicates, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) will go into battle with a full field of vision. But will it be enough to take on immortal gods who let loose chaos upon Earth-Prime?
Of course, the real nailbitter questions have nothing to do with the Fates themselves, but what fate has in store for characters like Zari (Tala Ashe) — in both her manifestations — her brother Behrad (Shayan Sobhian), Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), and Sara herself. All dance on the knife’s edge, and with production halted because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is unclear who will return. For Ashe, it is likely a matter of picking a Zari for dramatic purposes or choosing to keep both for comedic potential. We’ll stump for Sobhian and Behrad as he sort of fills the gap left by Ray’s (Brandon Routh) departure.
And as for Sara … well, since the Crisis, there has been the feeling that something is brewing for the character. She took a lot of breaks, considering a more domestic life with Ava (Jes Macallan) and then turned around and left her to be captain a lot of the time. All of which could be interpreted as carving out an exit for the character. We certainly hope everyone stick around at least one more year, but as Legends has proved resilient during cast turnover, we also hope the show introduces worthy replacements should anyone decide to move on.
Legends of Tomorrow airs Tuesdays on The CW.
